Learning Sciences Institute:  The Learning Sciences Institute (LSI) is one of a handful of trans-institutional programs selected by Vanderbilt University for strategic investment. It is Peabody College's foremost research initiative. The core goal of the LSI is to transform education by enlarging our understanding of the different ways that people learn and by designing innovative new teaching practices that meet the diverse needs of learners of all ages and across the globe.

Institute for Software Integrated Systems:  ISIS has developed a large number of visual languages for modeling complex systems. Designing and implementing modeling languages for domain-specific applications is one of the key characteristics of our research.  ISIS had developed a technology for authoring standards-compliant courseware from graphical models.

Center for Teaching:  The Vanderbilt University Center for Teaching works collaboratively with individuals and units across the university to foster and sustain a culture that practices, values, and rewards university teaching and learning as vital forms of scholarship.

Associate Provost's Office for Innovation through Technology:  This office helps identify ways  to promote teaching and discovery through innovative uses of current and emerging technology.

Faculty Innovations Profile Project:  The Faculty Innovations Profile Project (FIPP) encourages faculty and graduate students to work collaboratively to enhance teaching and learning through innovative uses of technology.  FIPP's online community supports communication, connection and sharing among the project's participants. FIPP members can post innovative ideas, experiences, methods and materials - in the form of summaries, documents or Web-based resources - for fellow members to search, read and respond.  FIPP is a joint initiative of the Carnegie Foundation, Columbia University, MIT, Northwestern University, Penn State University, Texas A&M University, the University of Texas, and Vanderbilt University.

Office of Science Outreach:  The Office of Science Outreach is dedicated to enhancing the classroom experience by increasing the use of technology, providing professional development opportunities to teachers, and encouraging connections between science experts and classrooms.
