Artificial Vessels Module

Objectives

  1. Understand the anatomy and physiology of blood vessels with special attention to its elastic properties and ability to diffuse molecules
  2. Apply diffusion
  3. Calculate stress and strain
  4. Understand elastic and inelastic deformation
  5. Create stress vs. strain plots, add lines of best fit, and interpret the slopes of these lines
  6. Design and implement a testable hypothesis and procedure for a particular problem
  7. Create a scientific poster
  8. Introduce muscle groups and equivalent forces.

Description

This module was written with a 7th grade science class in mind. It provides a unique setting to learn and apply diffusion, strength, hardness, flexibility, and stress and strain.
